2020 has been a monumental year for us at Regeneración and climate action as a whole. We were met with multiple compounding crises and faced these crises with collective community care.
Regeneración has continued to grow our team of volunteers and welcomed two new employees- Natalie Olivas, Organizer, and Liz Hernandez, Office Assistant.
We are so proud to have been recognized as a grassroots model for the nation, winning runner-up prize in the 2020 American Climate Leadership Awards.
We actively collaborate with 30 community-based organizations to help them incorporate climate change information into their messaging and support each other's events.
Our second Climate of Hope forum reached an audience of 1050 and featured Assemblymember Robert Rivas on a slate of all Latinx-speakers. The forum focused on centering farmworkers and local experts to provide solutions to rising temperatures in the Pajaro Valley. You can view the entire event here.
We hosted the first-ever Watsonville City Council Candidate Forum focusing on Climate and Equity and encouraged residents to get out the vote!
This incredibly important and urgent work could not have been done without the support of our generous supporters, volunteers, donors, and community partners. We are all critically important figures in the fight for climate justice.
We look forward to continuing this work with you all in 2021!
