2021 Year in Review

As this year quickly comes to a close, take a look back with us and celebrate the many successes and wonderful experiences we had! We hope you find these events as inspiring as we did!

We spread the word on climate justice and sustainable transportation information at over 15 events and farmers' markets.

We received funding from the California Air Resources Board to find out the preferred clean mobility options of our community!

We teamed up with Ecology Action to survey 230 Watsonville residents about their transportation needs. You can read our final report here.

Our staff and volunteers ensured the passage of resolutions by Watsonville City Council to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030, the updated Climate Action and Adaption Plan, and declare a Climate Emergency.

In order to spread the word on the importance of equitable climate action, our staff spoke at over 25 workshops, panels, and interviews on social and environmental justice throughout the Central Coast.

We hosted our fourth Climate of Hope forum on Women, Girls, and Climate Justice to shed light on how the climate emergency disproportionately impacts girls and women and the essential work that they do. The forum featured Spanish, Mixteco, and English speakers with interpretation into each language.

Director, Nancy Faulstich continued to exemplify her visionary leadership and received the Phil Rather award for Leadership in Healthcare for building a culture of health.

This incredibly important and urgent work could not have been done without the support of our generous supporters, volunteers, donors, and community partners. We are all important figures in the fight for climate justice.

We look forward to continuing this work with you all in 2022!
